Dance

The dance routine must be student choreographed and less than 3 minutes long. It can be in any dance media: jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, etc.

Music Performance

The five categories for music performances are voice, strings, piano, ensemble/band, and brass/winds. At the convention, the contestants will play before a panel of judges. The time limit for the band/ensemble category is seven minutes; the time limit for all other categories is four minutes. All competitors must bring copies of their music, if available, for the judges. All vocalists must have any accompaniment recorded on tape. Live accompaniment will not be allowed in the vocalist category.

That's Entertainment

That's Entertainment is the traditional JCL talent show that takes place during the banquet on Saturday evening. Entrance is free of charge for all JCL delegates at the convention. Try-outs are open (between 8:15 pm-10:50 pm on Friday night in the tent for anybody who wants to participate. Performers are limited to a four-minute act. All talents are welcome. (i.e. dance, music, magic shows, etc.) Performances do not have to relate to Latin. Be sure to bring your own equipment. Judging will take place during try-outs. The top two finishers in the middle school and high school divisions will perform at the banquet.
